What Makes for a Famous Artist?
Module Overview:Over the next four weeks, you will be developing and fostering your knowledge and opinions about what makes for a good artist, if art should be studied, and can art really be critiqued and if so, using what guide or formula?
Each week there will be an assigned reading as well as a discussion section which will address one of the three major topics in the module. Each discussion will last one week; more directions will be provided at the beginning on each week. Along with the weekly discussions, you will also be working virtually with one of your classmates to research and study an artist of your choice, developing an art critique, and using the critique to examine a work by your artist.
Project Overview:Working in pairs, you will study, research, and become an expert on an artist of your choice. The information will be presented using the presentation tool Prezi. You will need to use at least 6 sources; citations and in-text citations will be completed using APA style. Within each week, more directions will be provided as to what will need to be completed throughout that week in order to make sure that you and your partner are on task.
