Week 2 Overview-Is it Appropriate to Study Other Artists?
Week 2 Overview:This week, we are going to examine what happens when artists study other artists. So many times when learning about artists, we hear that they were a student of a famous artist or a school which produced other artists. Does this mean that there works are not truly theirs as it may not be original?


After this week, you will:
1. Determine your own personal opinion of what it means to study another artist
2. Decide where the line is in terms of creative plagiarism
3. Examine your own artist in terms of studying other artists


Instructions for the Week:
1. Complete the reading assignment: Assigned Reading from the Textbook from the teacher
2. Post your initial response in the Week 2-Discussion page section by Tuesday at midnight
3. Respond to at least two of your classmates' initial posts throughout the week while maintaining your discussion
4. Construct a reflection, at least 1/2 page in length, in which you explain what you have learned throughout the week as well as your thoughts and feelings about anything pertaining to the topic
5. Discussion ends on Saturday at midnight
6. Reflections need to be submitted via Dropbox by Saturday at midnight.


Project Instructions for the Week:
1. Start or continue to research artists and taking notes
2. Start to work on the elements to include in their art critiques
3. Decide which work you will be using in your presentation with your art critique and post to Research Groups and Artists page
4. Start to work on Prezis--create username and password and share invite with one another
